For certain, it's true
The possibility of this happening
They, since long knew

They have been preparing for such a situation
They have been at it since long
They will hit back at a time of their chosing
When they feel they are reorganised & strong

The bulk of their forces they had withdrawn long back
Leaving the hardcore committed behind
To cause extreme losses to the invading forces
And while retreating, destroy anything of utility they find

Transforming monuments, infrastructure & facilities into rubble
Eradicating cultures, erasing proofs of history
To deprive the advancing forces
Of any kind of a meaningful victory
